Compatibility, privacy and subscription costs vary, so the appropriate choice depends on the vehicle. Tracking should also be considered a recovery layer, not an invitation to personally pursue a stolen car. Police should be given the location information. In a layered strategy, a tracker sits behind locks, immobilizers and deterrents: ideally it is never needed, but it can become valuable once prevention has failed.

Valuables or Electronics Left in Plain Sight
